Ice Cream, Trampoline, Sponge Bob, Umbrellas and Flu. WHAT A DAY!

Thursday Kaitlyn came home looking pale and out of it. She talked about how instead of playing outside with the other kids she took a short nap on the circle time carpet and then went and saw the nurse who put a white thing around her neck. I'm guessing the white thing she is talking about is some type of thermometer. Anyway to make a long story short she ended up coming down with a fever that got up to a little over 102 that lasted about 24 hours. She is almost back to her normal self. It wasn't too bad and she didn't complain much other than her tummy hurting off and on. but you know something isn't right when that girl is quiet and she was very quiet yesterday. I hope its done and no other symptoms decide to show up and I hope the three of us that weren't sick didn't catch it.
Other than that I surprised the girls with a little trampoline and they love it!
The other pictures are of ice cream time, they love to wear it almost as much as they love to eat it. Don't ask what's going on in the last picture between the bright yellow spongebob pajamas to the ice cream to the umbrella, I'm not even sure. It can get a bit silly around here from time to time.

Yummy Ice Cream

They like Neoloitan, they get 3 flavors in one cone!

Oscar thinks he's sexy

Jumping on her trampoline just hours before the fever hit her

I don't even know what to say here, but they're having a good time.

Whos Baking is Better?

There really isn't a need for a long explanation. Kaitlyn wanted to bake some cookies so James and I alternated keeping track of them. Mine is on the Left and James' is on the right. We usually end up turning anything that we can into a friendly competition... Who would you say is the better baker?

Oh No...The Masked Mess Maker Was Here!

I guess we'll never know who made this mess...

Kiera is a sponge when it comes to picking up words. All she has to do is hear it once and its in her word bank which is good and bad. Because like all kids if she hears a bad word it comes out super clear and extra loud all the time. But here are a few things she loves to say. The video does come to a hault because I thought she was going to jump. All ended well, no bumps or bruises :) You can kindof see all the art work that Kaitlyn brings home from school in the background hanging on the walls. She has only been in school for 3 months and we have 2 walls covered! And yes, jumping on the beds is one of their all time favorite things to do. I have begun looking for a small trampoline for the basement, I think they will really like that. Enjoy the video.

Other than that there hasn't been to many things worth blogging about. Kaitlyn got to take snacks for the week to school. Her and I went to the grocery store and I told her she could pick anything and she chose, bananas, apples and fruit snacks (spongebob and curious george.). I was surprised, last time she wanted to take pudding cups, ice cream and chips. So I'm sure the teachers were more pleased this time around. She has been in pre school now for 3 full months and still loves it. She doesn't want to miss or skip a day. Let's hope that keeps up for another 14 years, lol.
After 3 years of not being able to get a hold of doctors that seemed to be too busy for my daughter even in serious situations, I think we finally found a good one. He got down on the floor and played with Kaitlyn and you could tell he really liked kids. It was like a 500lb weight lifted off of my shoulders finding a doctor that talked to me at my level, took time to talk with Kaitlyn, answered all of my questions without me feeling rushed or that I was taking up too much of his time and letting me leave the office with all of my questions answered and finally feeling confident in my daughter's doctor. She even slept for part of her EEG which has NEVER happened before. But I guess thats what happens when you finally find a place that knows how to work WITH children unlike people that only know how to work on children. Kaitlyn left saying she liked her new doctor, which hardly ever happens. YAAAAAAAY!

Oh My God, There's ELMO!

We went to see Elmo and all of his Sesamie Street Friends Yesterday. They showed us that if we use our imagination we can go anywhere. I wish I would have known that and just had the girls 1. Close your eyes, 2. Pretend you're there and saved myself the $70 it took to go there. Just kidding. We had a good time the girls danced and sang and had a great time. Kaitlyn eccpecially was just shaking it and jumping and dancing like crazy. We will deffinately do it again when they come back in town next year.

Other news. Kiera surprised the heck out of us last night. We were watching a movie and the girls were playing quietly on the floor with a book set that they got for Christmas. It has twelve books in it and all of the sudden Kiera starts sliding the books to Kaitlyn and these were her exact words... 1 book, 2 for sissy, 3 for sissy, 5 for sissy, six for sissy, seven for sissy, eight for sissy, nine for sissy, ten. We then paused the movie and watched her do it again and again. The more attention she got the more she started goofing off but we were amazed. She picks up on everything she hears her sister do. We knew she could count to 3 and sometimes four, but last night she just blew us away. She's only 1 for goodness sakes.

Snow, Football Glasses and More...

Aren't these the coolest glasses ever? Now we are ready for NFL playoffs and most of all the Super Bowl.

Cuddle Time

Other highlights of the week are. Kiera is officailly 21 months old. I cannot beleive in less than 3 short months my baby will be 2!

Kaitlyn is enjoying her first Snow Day today thanks to the 4 or so inches of snow and freezing temps. She got to experience the thrill of seeing her school district's name flash across the screen when all the channels were running the lists of school closings. Luckily she didn't have to wait long, the distrct we are in is always one of the first to cancel due to all the lovely, windy, curvy, hilly roads we have out here. So we are just taking it easy watching the snow blow around. We'll go out and see if it is snowman building snow after a little while then come in and sip on some Hot Chocolate to warm up. We'll need the warming up its a whopping -2 degrees right now.

How not to handle a cat... Kiera loves playing with Aunt Vals Cat, but I don't know how the cat puts up with the way she handles it.

Hapy New Year ~2010~

So the plan was to stay home with the girls so we didn't encounter any drunk drivers on the roads. Seems New Years Eve is amiture night for that. But when the girls kept saying they wanted to go bye-bye, I decided to pack them up and we headed toward O'fallon, Mo. We first stopped The Cheeks house. Then when mama decided she was not feeling well at all we headed over to Aunt Val and Uncle Johns house where we got to visit Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and Aunt and Uncle Sharon & Kerry that we hardly ever get to see but 2 or so times a year. We hung out there till about 10pm then headed back to Mama and Papas house to be off the roads well before 12. The pictures explain how the rest of our night went. Enjoy & Happy New Year!

New way of playing the piano

Singing Happy Birthday to Aunt val, Aunt Sharon & Mama Cheek. Mama Cheek was too sick to attend the festivities. But Kaitlyn enjoyed singing Happy Birthday 3 times and getting to blow the candles out about 7 times.

My girls and I just after midnight (12:05am) according to the clock in the background. Kaitlyn stayed awake till about 12:10. I had to really work to keep her awake, it felt kindof good keeping them awake for a change and not the other way around.

On January 1st we got to hang out with Uncle Bill and his Family. Kiera and Cannan(hope I spelled it correctly) really enjoyed eachothers company. They all played for hours without inncodent.

Kiera thinks she is being sneaky here, not realizing I am snapping a photo

Not too thrilled about having to say bye-bye and she is making sure no one gets her sandwich.

Back home after a long but very fun Holiday Season. She's just so dang adorable!
