We planted a variety of seeds weeks ago and hardly anything sprouted so we got tired of waiting and went to the store and Kaitlyn got to pick out what flowers she wanted to plant and this is what she picked...

Playdate at the Zoo

We met up with a group of people for some fun at the zoo. Everyone was really excited about checking out the new stingray exhibit and they thought it was so cute how I had the girls dressed alike. I always thought it was a common thing to do if you were lucky enough to have two little girls to doll up alike, but I guess it's not as common as I thought it was. The girls enjoyed the stingrays and the butterfly house the best, Kaitlyn thought the stingrays were soft. It was a good time other than it taking nearly a half an hour to find a parking space. Finally one of the lots opened and that was that. (Mental note: don't go on a beautiful Saturday if you don't like huge crowds.) I haven't went to many places like that with both girls by myself or with someone that didn't have their own kids with them for a spare set of hands. But Kiera was a gem and enjoyed strolling in her stroller for a majority of the time she stayed pretty busy with cheese puffs and pretzles so it went pretty darn good. Let's just say I'm not scared about doing it again, I'm rather excited actually. Enjoy the pictures...

Memorial Day BBQ

The weather held out for the most part and everone had a good time. What more can you ask for? The girls had fun playing at gma and papa Cheek's bbq. Which turned into a slumber party. Kaitlyn was the most amazing Big sister taking Kiera around on her four wheeler until Kiera decided to try it out herself. That four wheeler has been the best thing to keep her happy and occupied for countless hours at their house. We had to modify it and add a car battery as you can see in one of the pictures, but hey, it works! The girls have always gotten along good and Kaitlyn has always been very carefull and gentle around Kiera but she is having so much more fun these days now that Kiera is a bit bigger and can talk to her and sometimes yell at her and run around chasing her and wrestling with her and riding her four wheeler with her. They love to do everything together. You can just tell Kaitlyn loves to be the leader and show Kiera all kinds of new things and Kiera loves to follow and learn everything she can from her big sister may it be good things or things that get them in trouble. She idolizes her big sister. Even though Kiera is laid back she don't take getting pushed around, she pushes and yells right back with the best of em. I don't know if that is her being tough and standing up for herself or being more of a taddle tail. That will need more observation. Kaitlyn has also become protective of Kiera. If anyone has to repremand Kiera for doing something wrong, Kaitlyn is right there telling you to not yell at her baby sis and don't make her cry. It is an amazing bond to watch grow every day. I like to look back and see how much the girls have grown/changed over the the course of a year so here is a glimps back to a year ago Memorial day weekend 2008. They had matching outfits back then as well :) I'm gonna keep doing it as long as they will let me!

Pool Party at Mama Sharons'

Today the pool opened and they kicked it off with a party. The girls had a blast. Kaitlyn jumped right in, Kiera did ok unless the water went passed her armpits. It was a bit chilly, but we we swam for about two hours and then got out for Ice Cream cones. You can see Kiera kicked back enjoying hers in the lounger.

Finally, Fun in Our Back Yard!

Yesterday we finally got the swingset! Thanks to some help from Uncle Ryan and Mama Sheryl and today we got some different swings for it so it is good to go. Kaitlyn loves all of it and Kiera likes the baby swing and slide with some assistance. Oscar even likes the slide! The swing put Kiera to sleep so that may get some 3am use if she keeps waking up in the middle of the night.

All Star Fever

She's got her All Star Game Edition Bud's. Got Yours? She also has the Patch that you see on the guys uniforms during a game. Who knows what else she will collect between now and July...

Basket Cases

What do Kaitlyn & Kiera like to do when it is too chilly to be playing outside? Forget the nice toys and books, give them a laundry basket! It took them a while to figure out how they were comfortably going to fit, but when they did they were excited as you can see in the pictures below.

My 3 Amigos

After dinner almost everynight throughout the week. I head out to get a workout out in as if chasing the girls around isn't enough cardio, lol and James gets to spend some quality time with the girls. They couldn't wait for me to leave, but I couldn't leave without taking a picture or 2 or 5. Kiera loves sitting on the console part of the sofa if you couldn't tell, it's just her size.
