Ravioli Anyone?

So, it's nice that Kiera feeds herself now, but it sure can get messy. That's what baths are for.






She has also mastered the baby gate as you can see below if we put it along the floor she climbs over it, no matter what side the bar is on and if we raise it up just high enough that she can't climb it she can squeeze under it. What to do??? I guess we have to get a 4 foot tall baby gate, but they don't make those...


other than that we are gearing up for Kiera's 1st birthday party. Kaitlyn is so excited, however when we ask her if she is going to help get everything ready for little sis's party she says, "Yes, my party." she'll figure it out.

1st Time to the Circus!

This past Saturday we braved the weather and headed off to the circus. Kaitlyn was a little unsure at first but really got into it as it went along. By the end she was bouncing in her seat, yelling and waving with so much excitement. When the people did the tight rope and the guy was in the cage with all the tigers her eyes were as big as they could get and she had her hands over her mouth as if she knew their life was in danger. It was funny to watch. Kiera however, was more into it than I thought she would be. She shared time on Aunt Vals lap and mine and took it all in. She waved at everyone, laughed, clapped and pointed at the things happening. I almost didn't take her because I thought she might not be into it, but I am so glad we did. It was a great time.


Kaitlyn got to dress herself. I told her to pick something colorful :) Thanks for the COOL toy Aunt Val!

Together

Seems like up until just days ago it was almost impossible to get both of the girls together in a picture. Now they love to pose together. Makes it easier for me. Because when I get the camera out I try to take the same amount of pictures so there is no favoritism. Enjoy...




Trying to figure out ways to get Kaitlyn to relax her smile a bit before we go get professional pictures done.
And This is why Kaitlyn is pleading her case for a bigger bed, or at least a taller bed. Kiera loves to get up there and take over and see how bad she can annoy Kaitlyn.

The girls hardly ever get to relax and hang out with their dad, and cooperate for a few pictures but last night was great. No phone call interuptions, or people wanting his help with something. We got to have a nice quiet evening, just the 4 of us. It would be nice if people would let us do that more often.

Coordinate it

I'm getting away with it while I can. Every chance I get I try to dress the girls alike. If I am shopping for clothes and I see they have both sizes in the same thing, I get it. If not I try to coordinate them. Here is Kaitlyn in a dress she has had for a while and Kiera finally grew into the dress she is wearing that used to be Kaitlyns with a pink T under it and both in white tights. I don't know what I would do if I didn't have girls to dress up all the time. I would have alot more time on my hands if I didn't have to get Kaitlyn's hair tangle free many times a day and ponytails, pigtails and braids and soon I will be doing Kiera's hair as well, but it sure is a whole lot of fun!

My Birthday & Our Trip to Alabama

So there may have been some confusion on who was and was not going to go on the trip to Huntsville up till pretty much the last minute. We succeeded and talking Uncle Ryan into going after we knew we were for sure going after getting invited and then thinking we weren't going to getting reinvited. So that was good. It started out a bit rough, not knowing if we were going till the day before we left, which happened to be my birthday so the lovely day of packing everything and last minute runs to the store made for a tiring start to my birthday, but mama and Ryan and ron showed up to help while James was at work and surprised me with a little birthday cake, James even got home early from work, so the day got better real fast!

I was a bit worried about how a 7-8 hour ride would go with an infant and a 3 year old but to my surprise the girls were perfect the whole way there and back! One stop each way for a quick bite. Other than that they napped watched movies, sang songs, enjoyed looking for cows and other animals we saw and played the alphabet game.

Once we were there we went out to a nice dinner with the whole crew...Uncle Kerry, Aunt Sharon, Kerry and his girlfriend, Kristen, Luke, Straughan, Kacie, Hannah, Meghan, Kaitlyn, Kiera, Val, Ryan and myself. A nice big party of 15. That was fun then we went back to Straughan & Kacie's house so the 4 little ones could play. Kaitlyn and Hannah became fast freinds, they were so cute together. They eccpecially loved feeding eachother when we went out to eat.

The weather was pretty crummy so the two breaks from the rain we got we all went for a walk. Other than that it was indoor weather. Thank goodness Hannah had lots of cool toys that kept them from getting stir crazy. One day we went bowling. It was both Kaitlyn and Hannah's first time so that was memorable and fun. We also had some fun shooting some hoops outside of little Kerrys house the last evening we were there. Kiera and Meghan watched from their carseats and Kaitlyn and Hannah both ran around trying not to get hit by the basketballs and tossed and kicked at a football that were getting passed around. The drive back went just as smooth as the one going there. We had a very good time. Kaitlyn keeps asking when she can go play with Hannah again. I'm so glad that we ended up going. I hope everyone else had as good a time as we did! Here are the pics of how the past 6 days unfolded...
