Who knew she dances too!

This video is just over two minutes, but wait till you get to the middle of it. Kaitlyn went and got one her chickens that do the chicken dance and Kiera just fell in love. First she listened, then she clapped then she started to dance, or do squats which ever you wanna call it, but it was too not video. We are eagerly awaitng James to get home from work so he can hang out with Kiera and Kaitlyn and I can go outside and build a huge snowman, we tried yesterday, but the snow was too powdery after a day of sunshine on it it should be just right. I dont think I could have forgotten how to make a snowman. Enjoy the video!

More snow Pictures

Here are a few more pictures. Kiera was not thrilled when it was time to come back inside. I'm sure we will be going out many more times as long as the snow is here since it was such a hit with both of them. Later Kaitlyn and I will be going out to build a big snowman to throw snowballs at, or we will try to be outside when daddy comes home and attack him. We are also in search of a good sledding hill.

YEAH SNOW!!!

Get ready for another update any minute... We are currently playing outside in the snow. This is Kiera's 1st and Kaitlyn has been waiting for what seems like forever for a good snow. So you know I will have plenty of cute pics to post.

Well, its 10:44pm and we never made it outside. Kaitlyn wanted to go out then when we were all ready she decided she was absolutely not going out. I took her out for a minute tonight and we had a brief snowball fight now she is so excited to go out tomorrow. Looks like it will be more fun anyways cus we got about 4 or more inches on top of what we got today!!!

I did however have to take pictures today, just random, nothing really going on, Kaitlyn playing with a few of her baby dolls and smiling as big as she can, check out Kiera's hair, this is what it has been doing all on its own the past few days, she's got some wild hair and its definitely sprouting fast. Pics of Snow Play will be up tomorrow for sure.

We're up to 30!

Just a quick update. We have been keeping track of Kieras longest independant stepping adventures and her longest as of the other evening is 30! The entire length of the livingroom I think that is deffinatley considered walking. I guess now I hope that she walks like a lil drunken sailor for a while before she learns to run. She is much happier now that she has it figured out, it was really starting to aggrivate her when she wanted to walk but couldnt.

9 Month Check Up

Kiera's 9 month check up went just great. The doc could not beleive all the things she is doing for her age. The newly dicovered walking just amused him. She has also got herself back on the percentile charts. 25th for head circ, 5th for weight and 50th for height! Nothing wrong with being tall and thin.

length- 28 3/4in
He gave us the green light to start some table foods and stage 3 baby foods, we politly said, 'sounds good" and chose not to tell him we had allready started the good stuff. I will stick with his recommendation to wait on giving her cows milk and will keep giving her formula and nursing until she is 11 1/2 to 12 months. Kaitlyn did not need to be seen by the doc today so she was just there to help me with baby sis. she was so helpful all the way up to the point of holding Kieras' hand while she was getting her shots. Then she saw the needle go into her leg and said "oh my" and felt bad for her baby sis and walked away. She could not take the size of the needle that was going into her sis's leg. They both got cookies and we were on our way. Well, I am gonna get back to watching the presidential coverage for a bit before Kaitlyn wants Spongebob back on.

"We Have Another Walker"

So by the title of this post I'm sure you have figured out that Kiera is WALKING! She is just determined to do everything her sister does and then some. I decided with her that I was not going to push the milestones and let her grow up as slow as possible being that she may or may not be our last BABY and I want her to stay a baby as long as possible. But sure enough she was ready to walk about. The other night she did many sets of 15 steps and more! She wants to get into everything, which is a bit different than how Kaitlyn was at this age. Which means I am hoping another set of arms sprout out of my sides any time now and then fall off when Kiera is about two. It might look funny, but its about to get real fun around here when I really have to start chasing Kiera. Don't let her fool you she may be tiny, but she can move. It's so funny when she is getting into something she knows she should not be, you say her name and she looks at you, you say no, and she smiles then she crawls away from you or toward what you dont want her to touch so fast, like she thinks she might be faster than you. It is the cutest thing. She is growing so fast it's sad to see her not being so baby baby anymore, but it is so amazing to watch them grow into little people and personalities. I just wish they'd do it slower. She is also showing signs that she is fed up with baby food so I am slowly intorducing toast which she loves, shes had mac n cheese, pop tart, mashed taters, That stage 3 baby food is just nasty and she knows it... She has her 9 month check up tomorrow so I will post her new measurements sometime after.

Family Gathering

Everyone met up for dinner to kick off the New year. Our nice long table at Joes Crab Shack consisted of Great G-ma Ev, Great G-pa Bill, Great Uncle John, Great Aunt Val, Ma-ma Sheryl, pa-pa Ron, Uncle Ryan, Great Uncle Mike, Molly, Cousins Chris, Ben, Emma, Great Aunt Sharon, Great Uncle Kerry, Great Uncle Rick, Great Aunt Linda and sorry if I let anyone out. What a nice time it was. "Someone mentioned to the waitress that it was recently mama's, aunt val and aunt sharons birthdays so they had to get up in front of everyone and put on goofy hats and try to hula hoop while we all sang happy birthday to them. Yes there is video. Great Grandpa also bought us these cool shirts to remember the evening. Kaitlyn's says, Peace, Love & Crabs... and Kiera's says, My 1st Joe's Crab Shack Onsie. HAPPY NEW YEAR ~2009~

Happy New Year to Everyone. It's always kind of sad putting an end to a good year, and with our 2008 addition it will be a year we never forget. The year Kiera was born is over sadly, but there are so many exciting things I'm sure are going to happen in 2009. The girls passed out about an hour and a half before midnight but they did have an eventful day. We were up at mama and papa Cheek's house to help mama celebrate her birthday. We spent the night and had a full day of playing, Aunt Val stopped in which was nice cus we got to see her on her birthday as well. Aunt Sharon was with her which made for a nice surprise. Kiera is officially 9 months old today! She is growing up so fast. She is sooooooo close to walking it's not even funny she lets go, she moves her feet, then thinks about, weighs her options and drops down and crawls to what she wants. She is quite the chatter box latley, have a listen... Kaitlyn will be 3 1/2 next month. She has really went deaf lately or lets say she has gotten great and tuning my voice out. Heh. I know know what people mean when they talk about terrible 2's being nothing compared to honary 3's. She thinks she is three going on about 15. She loves wrestling with Oscar, who by the way has settled in quite nicely. He goes pretty much everywhere with us. We also wanted to thank everyone again for all the great things we got for Christmas. Thankyou, thankyou, thankyou... Here is a shot of Kiera swimming through her mound of clothes she got... Well, that's about all I can think of for now. We hope that 2009 brings you every happiness. If you were thinking Kaitlyns clothes looked a little funny its because I had to add them by editing the pictures, she hates to wear clothes.
