We settled down to watch a bit of the Baseball game and Kiera went and picked out her outfit, so she sported some cardinals gear, we didn't have the heart to tell her it wasn't the Cards playing so all night long we sang, "Let's GO Cardinals" She's such a cutie.

The girls are really diggin the extra space in thier room with Kiera's new bed being open and not caged like the crib so it has become another playing surface. Kaitlyn really tries to get Kiera to lay down and cuddle with her, but Kiera is just so busy all the time she will not lay still for long. Here are what I think are just sweet pictures of the two of them together in Kiera's big girl bed.

Picture Day, Big Girl Bed & Visit from Mama & Papa Cheek
Tues was picture day for Kaitlyn. She practiced really hard on how she was going to smile for the picture so we shall see how they turn out. I'm hoping she didn't do the Shrek smile all though it is cute in it's own way, but we will just have to wait and see.

While Kaitlyn was at school Kiera had a big day as well, we took down her baby crib and she is now in a "Big Girl" toddler bed. The room is much more roomy and she loves it so far although she didn't sleep any better, but it's only been one night. I wanted to keep her in the crib longer, but being the little monkey she is, I didn't like that she was trying to climb in and out of it. I saw a bad fall in the near future and decided to do something before soemthing bad happened.

Grandpa & Grandma Cheek came out to watch Kiera while Kaitlyn was at school and got to see her off and they were still here when she got home. SHe was so excited to show us her art work for fall and her new Halloween book. I thought I took more pictures and we did they were taken with grandmas camera so this is the only one I have to share.

Fun Afternoon at the Pumpkin Patch
It started to look as though we weren't going to get to enjoy a day at the pumpkin patch with Kaitlyn's big field trip getting rained out and then the forecast was calling for rain again today. But we decided to go for it anyway and ended up getting in about 2 hours of fun before the rain started which was plenty of time for a 4 year old and a 1 year old. Thanks to Papa Ron, Mama Sheryl, Ry-Ry and Ronnie for meeting us there and enjoying the afternoon with us! Thinking back to last year it seems like so long ago that Kiera was just 6 months old we had her all bundled up last year and this year she was running around with all the other crazy kids.
Excitedly on the way to the Pumpkin Patch

I was a baby last year, What exactly are these things?

We have our costumes picked and ready to go for this coming Saturday! Kaitlyn picked a beautiful Princess costume and Kiera has three to choose from, will she go for the monkey costume the clown or the princess? Come back and find out.

Field Trip Canceled But still in for a day of Fun
Kaitlyn was supposed to go on her very first field trip to the pumpkin patch today but the weather unfortunately did not cooperate. However the school sent home a Plan B idea for the kiddos that paid for the trip and asked them to dress in their favorite pumpkin or Halloween Shirt. So of course we had to use this opportunity to dress Kaitlyn accordingly. It is just too much fun dressing up little girls and fixing thier hair all kinds of crazy ways, she loved this outfit we put together, she's also rockin three ponytails that you can't see that great in the picture. The school has prepared a tone of game booths for the kids to win little prizes and candy and also rented a big bounce house for the day, so Kaitlyn will be in hog heaven! They are also getting all the kids Happy Meal lunches instead of the normal snacks that they have. The kids will probably enjoy this more so than the pumpkin patch. We are planning on going to the pumpkin farm this Sunday anyway, weather permitting. Let me know what you think of her outfit. I'll warn you, it's quite colorful!

I thought I had a picture of the entire outfit we added orange socks with her black baby doll shoes. Can you tell she thought she was styling in this? Her shirt says, I'm just so BOOtiful!
I could not leave Kiera out so here she is trying to get low so the camera can't find her.

3rd Day of School with a Bus Ride!
Kaitlyn loved the bus as expected. However, Kiera was not a happy camper at all! I had to get on the bus to buckle Kaitlyn in and did this while holding Kiera. Kiera thought she was going for a ride too, but knew something was not going the way she had planned when we said bye-bye to Kaitlyn and got off the bus. She started screaming. I did follow the bus, just to make sure Kaitlyn didn't try to escape through the rear emergency door (just kidding) and see how she liked it when she got to school. Kiera was still screaming and holding her breath until she saw her sister at which point she smiled and yelled, "sissy, sissy" which lasted a minute because it was time for us to leave again and Kiera went right back into screaming then holding her breath and trying to stick her hand in her mouth until she finally fell asleep when we arrived back at home. I was not expecting her to do any of that at all. We'll see how she does tomorrow. If she doesn't get any better I think I will stick with taking her in everyday and letting the bus bring her home. That was an ordeal and a half there.

2nd Day of Preschool
Don't worry I'm not going to do a daily update on Kaitlyn going to school. She just looked so darn cute today! Fox offers busses for their preschoolers and we are going to test them out tomorrow. Kaitlyn has always been a huge fan of the looks of a school bus so we shall see if she enjoys riding one as much as she enjoys looking at one. She says she wants me to take her and the bus bring her home but tomorrow the bus is going to pick her up. (I will probably follow it all the way to school) I think we will probably end up taking her on a daily bases and letting the bus bring her home but we shall see how it all goes tomorrow. So many adjustments and changes all in one week. I don't like this much change. I am glad Kaitlyn is adjusting better than I am. I miss her the short time she is gone.
She remembered all the poses from yesterday

Telling me she wanted to take a nap about 30 seconds before it was time to head to school...

this has been the only negative to choosing the PM schedule so far. She starts school when she is used to taking her nap. Being that she sleeps in lately it makes for a late breakfast so she doesn't want lunch before she goes to school either and she only gets a snack while there. She comes home exhausted, hungry and very irritable. 4 oclock is too late to feed her lunch and too early for dinner but she's not happy with just a snack and if she naps that late she will be up until the weeee hours of the morning. We'll get it figured out, I may have to start waking her up for an earlier breakfast and that way she can take a nap and have lunch all before 12:30 but then that defeats the whole purpose of why we chose the PM class. Oh my. I think the bus ride home will help and a bit more time to figure out what our new schedule needs to be. Other than that everything else is going great!

Kaitlyns First Day of Preschool
She knew it was going to be a big day from the minute she woke up. She always wakes up and walks out of her room all by herself but today she called me in. I walked in and she was sitting on her bed all poised and as soon as we made eye contact she said with a huge smile on her face. Me go to school today? and I got to tell her today was finally the day we had been talking about, it was time to go to school! Since we ended up going with the PM class it seemed like it took forever for it to be time to leave for school. She got anxious and a little moody. We get up to school and James was hoping to make it up there on his lunch ending up not being able to make it, but called at just the perfect time. The teachers were checking out the new little girl and as they were she was walking down the hallway chatting on my cell phone with her daddy and she thought she was a big shot. So Me and Kiera and Papa and Mama Cheek saw her off. It was exciting and great until it was time to leave her I leaned over to give her a kiss and the tears just started falling out of my eyes, so I kissed her and told her to have fun and I walked out in a bit of a hurry so she didn't think I was upset. By the time I got out the classroom door I was laughing at myself. Mama Sheryl and I went and picked her up and she was exhausted when she came out. Her teacher said she did great. We tried not to overwhelm her with questions but couldn't help it. After she got home and got some food in her belly she wasn't so tired and told us that she liked school and finally by bedtime she said she wanted to go back tomorrow. I can tell this is going to be so good for her especially with the winter months coming up I wont have to go crazy trying to find fun things for her to do that are indoors at least 4 days out of the week beause she will be having fun and learning at preschool. I'm so proud of her. I wish they wouldn't grow up this fast though.

Uncle Ry-Ry was on national TV!
Well our Cards may have ended their season yesterday getting swept. However the girls got a kick out of seeing Uncle Ryan on TV and thank goodness for DVR's because they wanted to watch it over and over and over and over. They think their uncle is some sort of rockstar now, lol. So thank you Ryan for looking goofy enough with that wig to get on tv to give the girls and the rest of us a smile, a laugh and some excitement yesterday :) I can't forget to mention he got two tickets to the game too! For those that didn't know.
Here is a clip I put together real quick he was on TBS (national tv) just before the game started and interviewed by channel 5 at the pregame rally. It's short and I've watched it many times, but it's still exciting.
Watch Carefully and look for him 2 times. Go Ry-ry, Go Ry-ry, go go go Ry-ry!

Kaitlyn is going to Pre School & Another Huge Milestone
Oh my gosh I can't believe it! My little girl is growing up so fast. She is so excited about starting preschool this coming Monday! As of this afternoon we have all the paperwork done and it is official. We are going shopping tomorrow to get a couple of necessities. We already found out that she will be going on a field trip to Stuckmeyers Pumpkin Farm in a few weeks so she is really excited about that. This is going to be great!
On another EXCITING note, a subject that we don't talk about a whole bunch. It has been 1 year and 1 day since her last seizure! We are hoping to never have one again, but we will just take it one day at a time. I have been thinking about the whole ordeal alot lately for one with Kaitlyn going to be away at preschool on a daily bases, but the main thing that has triggered all this thought is that Kiera is almost the age Kaitlyn was when she had her first episode and I cannot help but think how quickly your life can change. You go to bed one night everything smooth sailing with a healthy beautiful 1 1/2 year old with no extra worries or concerns and then you wake up the very next morning and your baby is awake but not responding to you followed by the worry, the doctors, the meds and so on. I hope Kiera doesn't ever give us a surprise like that, but I can't help but wonder every night when I go to bed what will tomorrow bring? All I can do is Thank God for an "uneventful" great day that has come to an end and hope and pray that the next day is just as good if not better.
So, Congratulations Kaitlyn on One Full Year of being Seizure Free!!!
Back to the subject of Preschool. If you think about it next time you talk to Kaitlyn or see her ask her about school, she thinks she is so mature now and loves to talk about it. We have been making it a huge thing here because it is!
