It's been a busy last few weeks...Memphis, Colorado...

So much has went on this past week and a half. I guess I'll just start at the begining and work my way through it.
We found out that James' brother Kurt was getting married a while back. he lives out in Colorado. I saw that the wedding was just two days after Kaitlyn had a doctors appointment in Memphis, TN. So I really didn't think I'd be able to make it. So James, his mom, his dad and niece Mechelle all booked their trip to head out to Denver the same morning Kaitlyn and I were heading out to Memphis.
Off and on I tossed the idea of heading out to colorado, but when it came down to cost and flying by myself and the almost 3 hour drive from Denver to Aspen, I just dismissed the idea. then James's mom Sharon mentioned how much more fun it would be if there was any way I could go so I started looking into tickets again, but the price had went up even more. Sharon offered to pay for me to get out there and at the last minute I found an amazing deal that I just couldn't pass up. Meanwhile I told James I had givin up on the idea so he had no clue I was going. I don't know why, but I like surprising people any chance I can. But that was still a long way off...
Thursday Sept. 30th Kaitlyn, Kiera, Mama sheryl, Ronnie and I headed out bright and early to Memphis where we met with a specialist for Kaitlyn, nothing new kind of a waisted trip, but the trip itself went smooth and I thought it was fun. We got back to my house around 8pm that night. The girls were tired, but being that I didn't have a chance to pack anything for my trip I was leaving for bright and early the next morning. They headed back to mom and dads with them. that gave me the house to myself since James was already in Co. with his family. I packed up everything the girls would need for their weekend at mama and papas house and packed up my things for my trip and headed out the door.
Of course one night I was really hoping to get just a few hours of sleep, Kiera stayed up most of the night. I think she knew something was going on. So I finally handed her over to Uncle Ryan at 4am so I could get to the airport to catch my plain. She threw a fit like haven't heard in a long time. I was already nervous to leave my girls for that long and be that far away. I have never been apart from them for more than one night and on the overnights I've only been no more than 30 miles away. So to leave her so upset almost got to me. Usually it upsets me but this time it only made me more excited to get on that plane and get away for a few days. I know that might sound kind of bad, but its the truth. Mom did call a few minutes later to tell me she was back to sleep and doing just fine which did make me feel better.
So I gt to the airport a bit nervous, its been a while since I flew much less alone. I breeze through security and get to my gate all in the matter of about 5 minutes. Oh I forgot to mention the tickets I scored at the last minute were first class, which bumped me up to the front of the baggage check in line and the security line. Pretty nice. So the flight was very smooth I actually enjoyed it. Had me a vodka and orange juice at 6 am to calm my nerves. Hey it was free, why not?
So I fly into Denver at 7:15, what a huge airport... found the shuttle for my rental car and headed that way. I recorded my train ride and all kinds of things that I thought the girls would enjoy watching. Hopped in my rental car and started my drive to glenwood Springs Co. I talked with James the day before and he was kind of upset that the drive that was supposed to take 2 1/2 hours took nearly 4. I wasn't pleased to hear that. However I arrived to the parking lot of the hotel in exactly 2 1/2 hours even with one stop. so I pull in and Jim, my father in law is standing t the front door. I walk up to him, he knew I was coming but was surprised to see me that early in the day. So he's all excited to walk me up to the room James was in and see his reaction to me being there. Jim opens the door and says to James, "You'll never guess what I found down in the parking lot." and with James' dad no telling what he might tell you he found in a parking lot. So I walked in and the look on James' face made the whole trip worth while. He smiled and was just in disbelief to see me there. I had called James during the lat 20 minutes or so of my drive to see what he was doing and blah, blah, blah so I know he had no idea I was on my way.
So we find out that Glenwood Springs has alot of history to it and found out that that is where Doc Holliday was buried. James is a huge fan of the movie Tombstone, it is a great movie so we went to see the burial site, mind you it was a 1/2 hike up a mountain, but wed made it, had to stop a few times especially for his dad to catch his breath, but it was neat. After the rehearsal dinner we decided since we hadn't had a weekend get away since before the girls were born we'd make Friday night our night and we had so much fun. We ended up at a cute little old saloon, called the Doc Holliday tavern, it was full of local people who couldn't have been nicer. It was a great night. The next day was the wedding and reception. Even though it was an hour up into the mountains I was freaking out the whole time because I had no cell phone reception, no one did where we were. So that night came to an end and we got up the next morning drove back to Denver together and between the 5 of us that were there together took 3 different planes home. We all made it back safe and sound. Thanks to my mom and dad and Ryan and Ronnie and Dustin for taking great care of my girls. Thanks to Dave for getting me to and from the airport and thanks to everyone who knew I was going keeping it a secret from James. Because that was so fun surprising him.

In other news James got 4 of his teeth cut out yesterday. hes recovering very nicely and doesnt appear to be in too much pain.

I meet with Kaitlyn's Preschool and future kindergarten teachers tomorrow, so thats exciting. Hopefully the girls will behave.

Here are some pics of our trip and the wedding and everything in between. Enjoy!

Did you know marijuana is legal to grow and sell in the state of colorado. It was available here at this corner store with a perscription.

The town we stayed in was also known for their natural sulpher and hot springs. Here is a picture of a huge hot spring pool.
