Monkey See, Monkey Do
Kaitlyn for the longest time has been doing somersaults all over the place and ever since Kiera has been able to sit up and watch she has been content with clapping for Kaitlyn and laughing. About a week ago she decided to put her head down, butt up and walk those feet toward her hands until she slowly rolled her body up and over. Now we cannot get her to stop. I have some pretty funny video of the girls doing their somersaults, but I cannot get the video to load on here. Last Friday night we sat here and just watched them do somersaults around the livingroom for over an hour. Now that she has gotten confident she thinks she can do them on the beds and couch. We are prepared for more bumps and bruises :)

Kaitlyn's 4th B-day & Our 5th Anniversary
Kaitlyn being cheesy... This pic was taken at 4:23pm which is kindof crazy due to the fact that she was born at 4:23pm 4 years ago!

Well yesterday was a big day. Thanks to all of you that called to wish Kaitlyn a Happy Birthday and James and I a Happy Anniversary. We had a LAZY day yesterday. If fact Kaitlyn never got out of her pajamas! It was her day so I let her do what she wanted to do. It didn't feel hot enough for swimming and she wasn't interested in going to the park so we just hung out here at the house. After James got home we ordered Chili's Take out and after that we had a birthday/anniversay cake. Yes I baked again. this one didn't turn out as pretty but it sure was good. Plenty still here if anyone wants to swing by and have some.

Kaitlyn's Birthday Plans / Kiera's 16 months & More News
Well we survived without James for the 8 days he was gone. It was tough, but we managed. So glad he is back and I don't have to feel like a single parent anymore. I just wish time would slow down. My girls are growing up so fast. It seems like only a short time ago I was holding Kaitlyn for the first time and that has been almost 4 years ago! I was thinking the other day, Kaitlyn has been around as long as your high school years and let me tell you the high school years seemed to drag on a whole lot longer than how fast the time has flown by since she has been here.
Back to Kiera. She is now 16 months old as of the the 1st of this month and doing great. We still think she is part monkey. She climbs everything. It is really starting to get dangerous, the other day she climbed the curtains and the rod gave when she was about half way up thank goodness the couch was there to break her fall. The other day and papa and mama Cheeks house she stood up on the arm of the chair and dove into her play pin as if it were a pool. Her head has really taken some beatings and every time she does something like that I have mini heart attacks. She is very strong willed and is really becoming determined to to what she wants to do and from a bit of following Kaitlyn's lead she is learning rather quickly how to tune my voice out when it's something she doesn't want to hear. Oh, for instance the word, NO. She loves loves loves to dance and sing to nursery rhymes and as of late every morning when she wakes up she has to go straight to Kaitlyn and give her a 2 minute long hug. It is the cutest thing ever!
On another note, sorry for such short official notice, but Kaitlyn's Party is definitely going to be the 9Th which is this coming Sunday. But I think we are planning on taking the girls to Chicago the following weekend and trying to get back at a scheduled time after a 6 hour trip and have a party seems like a bit to much to try for. So I hope you all can make it on the 9th. I usually do not procrastinate this much but with James being out of town and not knowing 100% if we were going to go to Chicago the weekend I really wanted to have the party has kind of kept me in limbo. I will be deciding for sure if it will be at the pool or at the house later today. I'm going to check what the forecast is calling for for that day and will call all of you who said you could attend and let you know where to be.
Some of you may know that I came down with the flu or something this past weekend and now I am left with my tonsils swollen together and sticking out the side of my neck. Last time this happened, last year the doc said if they did this again I would have to have them taken out. So I am hoping they get better in the next day or so so I don't have to call her and set that up. Here's to hoping!
Here are the most recent pics of the girls just playing around and hanging out from this past week.
