Kaitlyn did WHAT?

I really try to keep everything that can harm the girls or do damage out of reach, but who would have thought that Kaitlyn would get up onto the toilet and walk across the vanity and there she was standing on the vanity with a chunck of hair in one hand (mind you this chunck of hair was the entire length of her arm!) and the scissors in the other and so proudly of herself she said, "look mommy, I cut my hair!" Now, I don't know if this is wierd or not, but I started crying. So while I am crying and throwing stuff into the diaper bag to get to the salon, like we have limited time like she lost a tooth or a limb, I get everything together and head for the door. We get to the salon and the ladies laugh as we walk in. Then tell me that there isn't much they can do but to let it grow... I asked if they could blend it or feather it or layer it. No, no, no. So they trimmed up the back which was about 5 inches off, I was worried about the cute little curls getting cut off, but as soon as the lady cut it new curls started to form! As for her bangs, they will be a mess for a while, so we will not being going out in public. Just kidding. She's still adorable and she will wear her new edgy style proudly. Don't laugh too hard, and don't worry the scissors will be kept in the gun safe from here on out, thats the only place she cannot get into.

On goes the cool fishy cape

She didn't want to look in the mirror, she wanted to see what was going on behind her

Kaitlyn likes looking into the little mirror and not the huge one infront of her

Back home after all the commotion, I now notice what the lady did to even it out abit looks a whole lot more drastic than if I would have just stayed home and not freaked out about it. Oh well, too late now. It'll grow back! Hopefully as fast as it usually does.

Reading Time

Part of our night time routine has always been to read. Kaitlyn has always pushed it to the limit and some nights we will read 5,6,7 or more books, but tonight was so cute because she took it upon herself to read to Kiera. I just sat on the sideline and watched in amazement seeing my first born acting all grown up. Then I ran and got the camera.

Staying in, out of the heat

Not much going on this week so far. We are staying in the AC for now. We will be swimming Friday as long as the weather cooperates, the girls get antsie when we stay home day after day, but we make sure to get them out on their swingset and playing in the backyard in the evening. Luckily our whole backyard is shaded after about 2pm. But we haven't been taking them out till about 7 the past couple days just enough time for them to burn off the energy that dinner gave them before bath and bed time roll around. Here are a few pics of them today just hanging around the house.

Happy Father's Day

We all had a great Fathers Day We spent the 1st half of the day with my dad, aka, Papa Ron and family then spent the second half of the day with James after he was home from working. The girls had a blast playing at mama and papa Cheek's house we set up the little pool and Kaitlyn of course had her four wheeler going and going and going. The only reason she ever gets off of that thing is because the battery dies, thank goodness they haven't come up with a battery that stays charged for weeks. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get pictures the batteries in my camera were D.O.A. So I am posting a few pictures from this past week. The first three are of the girls eating some Eddy's Dibbs. They are an absolute hit! And not messy so they are OK in my book.
:Note: If you have kept up on the blog you know the girls had their bout with pink eye two weeks ago and I had it last week, Well James came home from work yesterday with it. Seems no matter how much Lysol, GermX and wash we do it worked it's way through all of us. Now I see why when a kid gets it they are told to stay home from school this stuff is terribly contagious. First for all of us and hopefully never again!

Yikes! Pink Eye

So yesterday evening I noticed both Kaitlyn and Kiera getting watery and itchy eyes. The greenish yellow gook came shortly after and this morning they woke up with their eyes glued shut from all the gook and once we got them opened they were pink. They don't seem to be bothered too badly by it, some light sensitivity and itchiness is about the only effects I'm seeing along with all the gook. We are loaded up on Germ-X so hopefully James nor I will get it. See you after the pink eye's gone. I swear if it's not one thing it's another, lol. I've become quite the germ-a-phobe ever since I've had kids. Everything is contaminated! Only the bottom two photos are pictures of the girls after signs of pink eye started to show. The First ones are just of them playing with Kiera's piano and then taking turns in there wave runner.

She just looks so pitiful

We got our Ex Back!

Finally a week and a day later we got our Excursion back! It was so wierd being in an itty bitty car after being so used to cruising in that monstrosity. Usually the girls have a few toys and things to keep them entertained around them and those few things jam packed the car. We didn't have room for out big stroller or pool toys. I don't think I could ever go back to a car when I'm so used to being one of the bigger vehicals on the road and with all the room and everything kept out of the weather. After a relentless week of phone call after phone call and waiting on the warrenty company, they finally gave the shop the okey to fix the truck. Still can't believe the tranny took a dump with only 40k miles on it & it had to do it 200 miles away from home. It is so wierd and aggrivating when the repairs are out of James' hands. The warrenty company made us take it to a certain place. I would have much rathered his place do it, but it seems to be ok. Hopefully it will go a good long time now. Or at least get us to and from our daily adventures and get James to and from Boston, MA next month. If We're real brave the girls and I might go with him on that trip, but I just have no real want to go nad spend a week in Massachusetts, I hate sea food, and I really don't care to see how the girls handle a 16 hour road trip. But depending on how badly he wants us to go will determine that. We shall see.

Fun Fun Fun at Swing Around Fun Town

Aunt Val came out today and we headed down the road to Swing Around Fun Town. Kaitlyn had to choose between Go Karts, Bumper Boats and Mini Golf and she chose a double ride of the Big Fast Go Karts. Then we went inside and had some fun in the arcade where she racked up 210 tickets and got to bring home a whole slu of cool junk.

Not music to my ears

Well, this is the week I make Kiera cry it out at night. I have been getting up almost every night for 7 months and it has taken a toll. Last night she cried for about 30 minutes and I gave in because Kaitlyn started to get upset. I figured whats the point of two unhappy kids at 3am.
Right now it's 1:35am and she just gave up. She fell asleep at 11 and woke up at 12:25 so she cried for right at an hour. It just kills me to sit and listen to her cry, I know what she wants. Is this the right thing to do? Poor baby.
Maybe she's not as stubborn as her sister after all. We tried this with Kaitlyn back in the day and she screamed for three hours and when she threw up all over herself at that point I threw in the towel. To this day she rarely sleeps through the night. I am determined that Kiera will become a good sleeper once again. She was from two months old to seven months old. She is very smart, so hopefully she'll figure this out in a few short nights. Maybe even before James gets back from his trip. Lucky him getting to sleep in a quiet place.

14 Months Old Already!

So on Kiera's 14 month B-day. It was the warmest day of the year so far so we inflated a little pool and played outside. Kaitlyn could splash around in anything for hours and hours she never gets enough. Looks like Kiera is the same way but the water has to be a comfortable temperature for her to enjoy it.

Let's see how cold it is...
