Teamwork

Kaitlyn loves playing on her pink laptop. (thanks again Blake, Drew, Rachel & Kyle) Sometimes the she will ask Kiera for help, which is so cute. I think in the photo below they found a question that stumped them both.

Yikes!

The girls may have enjoyed it, but the new Halloween popcicle the Icecream man talked Kaitlyn into trying was a MESS! It took two baths to get them clean. I think we'll stick to the little less messy ones from here on out.

BIG NEWS!!!!

KIERA went PEE PEE in the POTTY tonight!!!

We had a very busy almost non-stop day of running around. We started with another big testing day for Kaitlyn that lasted almost 3 hours. She did so good I am so proud of her. Kiera also did great waiting around that long for her big sister to get done and she got to amaze the ladies there as she showed of her sommersault skills. Anyway so after a full day of excitement... Tonight Kiera went pee pee on the potty! She made the connection a while back by saying pee pee potty and so on but usually by the time she walked to the bathroom she had just gone in her diaper, but tonight she got it right and it was so so so exciting! Now we'll just see if she really did get the hang of it or if it's still going to be a while before this house is diaper free. I've been changing diapers for over four years straight now, but something tells me I'm gonna miss these days when they're gone.
In other news, some idiot thought he could drive all over the road and hit the girls and I as we were on our way to the doctors office to get a paper signed, no one was hurt, but it's just another thing that will take up my time that I don't want to deal with so Thanks a$$hole for hitting us and making my truck ugly. Then to top off his stupidity he told the police officer that arrived that the accident was my fault, what a loser. I'm still pretty mad about the whole thing so please excuse my venting.
Here are some pictures from tonight as we praised Kiera for going on the potty to some pictures from the past week.

Just after Kiera went pee pee on the potty for the very 1st time

Sunday it was rainy so we went to the McDonalds playland and played around it said parents could play too, so why not?

The girls love to play the piano and Mama & Papa Cheeks house

Such a pretty smile

Too tired... She went in to take care of business but was just too exhausted (this will be a great picture to have in about 12 years to pull out infront of her friends for a little embarassment.)

Finally Found It

I have finally found a picture that describes me and how I feel about what I do on a daily basis. However, I'm sure the few that think because I have chose to be a stay at home mom and think that my sole job consists of holding the couch down and taking naps all day won't get it, but for the rest of you, here it is...

I only wish I had that many arms :)

Dobbs Picnic 2009

We look forward to the Picnic that Dobbs puts together every September. This year was one we have been waiting for. Kaitlyn was finally big enough for all the toys and got to run on her own within reason and go from bounce house to bounce house and the playground. The girls had so much fun they are always given a a stuffed animal and 10 tickets for the kids games booths where they win all kinds of goodies plus all the cotton candy, sno cones and pop corn you can eat. This year seemed to be the biggest turn out, James entered one of his cars in the car show and purchased a bunch of raffle tickets but didn't win any of the cash prizes or the big tv's they were giving away. He wanted one so bad, but not this year. After the picnic the girls and I hurried home to be James where some of his friends were here to surprise him for a little birthday get together, he was surprised. We went out for a nice dinner and that was about all we could fit into the day.

You'll also see in the pictures below that the girls really like the big barbie that their cousin Emma handed sown to them however we gave her some of Kiera's clothes to make her a bit more comfy. :)

What an ordeal!

So the furniture company finally decided to replace our living room furniture after 8 months of nothing but problems. They were going to replace what we had but when they tried to do that they then told me our furniture was no longer available. So I had to do something that I hate doing and went furniture shopping. For the first 4 weeks there was nothing that caught my eye. Then I took my mom and mother in law with me for more eyes and opinions and found something that was nice looking in the store and the big plus was it was like the older couches in that every cusion on it was turnable. Plus they had my current furniture that they were replacing back on the floor but the thought of the same problems occuring scared me away from it even though I loved how it looked. So they deliver it the next day and I hate it! Everything about it I hated. I don't know if it was because I was something after 4 weeks of looking that everything started to look good, but anyway. I call the store and talk to the manager and tell him how much I hate it and he says right away that they would swap it out no problems. So I go into the store yesterday and see that they still have my old furniture minus the wedge so I can't get it as a sectional anymore, but I can get the same exact couch and loveseat. Right in front of that they had this red/burgandy couch and loveseat that for some reason I was really liking. So again I weighed the pros and cons and decided I couldn't wake up and walk out to my livingroom and see that shade of red everyday. I was afraid I would get tired of it. So I went with our orgonal furniture with a new 5+1 year warrenty and I know I will like how it looks when it gets here today. I will mis the wedge, but that just means more floor space for the kiddos to play. I can't forget to mention that I had the girls with me yesterday and we were in the store for 2 hours and they were all together very good! Yay, a productive day!

The Old

The New

Also the New

The cusions all over the place even drove her hair crazy

Soon to come a pic of the new...

so I went with brand new of the same thing we had in hopes this set is built better :) Plus I'm getting my wedge back. I liked the extra space in the corner but Kaitlyn missed her wedge, it was her favorite spot. I know, I'm nuts.

Hello September! Wait, where did August go?

Kiera is now 17 months old and just keeps growing. This will be the last time you hear me refer to her age in months. Next month she will be a year and a half, I just think it's too funny when we are out playing somewhere and I will ask a mom or dad how old their little one is and they say something along the lines of, "Oh, she is 31 months." Then I have to stand there and do the math to figure out how old their crib midget is. Oso bitter sweet, I was hoping she wouldn't grow up so fast. The girls had their 4 year and 1 year doctor visits last week and both checked out good. The doctors visit was a story in itself, they relocated to the new medical building that is attached to the new hospital right down the street, so we didn't know where we were going. So we get to the 3rd floor and I am signing in with Kiera in the stroller and Kaitlyn right next to me, or so I thought, I turn around and Kaitlyn is saying bye mommy as she is on the elevator and the doors were about 3 inches from all the way closed. So I panic, after giving the elevator time to come back the doors open and it was empty, so now I have to find her. I hop on the elevator going down and ask the lady to call down to the front door and tell secutiry not to let a 3 year old in green out that door. I check every floor and no sign of her, the lady that called down to the welcome desk went up to the 4th floor to look. I didn't know she was doing this, so I am freaking out still. I get back to the 3rd floor and there is Kaitlyn sitting at the sign in desk coloring a picture. What would you have done? I thanked the lady a million times and did the rest of the registration with Kaitlyn in on hand and the stroller in the other. So we get to our room where we are waiting for the doc and Kaitlyn then realizes this is the doctor that usually gives her shots so she starts freaking out. So after about 5 minutes the doc walks in and she starts screaming, wouldn't cooperate in the least, so he checks out Kiera and looks over Kaitlyn the best he can without getting kicked if he gets too close and was out the door. the nurse came in decided we would Kaitlyns shot out of the way. She's kicking and screaming so bad the nurse gives her the shot and keeps crying and carrying on, I have to convince her the shot is over and she then looked at me like I was crazy and told me she didn't get a shot, but liked her new snoopie band-aid. That girl is deffinately in a league of her own when it comes to stubborn, hard headedness. Kiera on the other hand had to get 3 shots and took them like a champ she didn't cry till the last one and that was because the nurse dropped the sarynge and the needle was still stuck in her arm so it kinda wiggled around in there for a second. So after all that we get our little pieces of paper with their latest stats and Kaitlyn is now in the 99% for height so she is no longer off the charts there and still off the charts for her weight, she is about the size of an average 6 year old they say, ha. Kiera on the other hand is the complete opposite of her sister and she is on the small end of the spectrum in weight but nice and tall. What a morning! I always say I am going to plan their next visit on James' day off but his only day off is the same as the docs only day off. Figures. Anyway, here are the numbers & enjoy the latest pictures...

Kaitlyn @ 4 years old - 42 1/2 inches tall & 51 pounds
Kiera @ 17 months is - 34 inches tall, 23 lbs & her head is 18 1/4 inches around.

Kiera playing Kaitlyn's new computer & Kaitlyn trying to convince me that the boppy pillow is her new bike helmit

What? I'm not going through mommy's purse

figuring out her computer

Thinking so hard if you look close enough you can see smoke coming out of her ears

(((((((((((HUGS)))))))))))

I'm 17 months old today!

Looking through the mail

Kiera will not leave Kaitlyn alone when she is trying to take a nap, if it was up to her, no one would sleep ever

Kiera posing like her sister did at that age in the same hat, if I could find the whole outfit I would have put her in it :)
